We are all in the same situation that our children have moved away from home and we have more weekend time available to spend with each other. We thought it would be fun to take a camping trip together. We decided we would do this in the fall of the years so that the camp grounds would not be as crowded, there would be less bugs, and we could take in some of the beautiful fall colors. You are about to learn the information you have been searching for. I hope you find it helpful. As the weekend approached I began pulling our camping equipment off the storage shelves in the garage. We do not camp as often as we used to so I knew that I would need to dust off the items. My sisters and their husbands have not done as much camping as we have so we agreed that we would bring the majority of the supplies. I had taken the dishes and silverware into the house to wash when one of my sisters called. She wanted to review what she was bringing for food. She had bought canned beans to go with one of the meals that we had planned. She was checking to see if she needed to bring a can opener. I told her that I knew I always had one in with the equipment and even though I had not come across it yet I would bring one. When I got off the phone my husband mentioned that he had tossed out the can opener the last time he had taken it along on a hunting trip because it was not working right. He started looking through my gadget drawer to find a can opener to take along. I told him that I needed to use the can opener in the house before we went camping. He wrote a note to remember the can opener and placed it on the message board shortly after that. One of my other sisters called to check in and she mentioned that she had bought canned pie filling to use with the pie irons over the fire. She also was inquiring about a can opener. I explained that I just discovered that my husband had tossed out one. She said that she had an extra so she would bring it along let's look at it a different way. We arrived at our camp site and found that there were very few other campers in the area. We were close to a water fall and the leaves were a beautiful color. We pitched tents then went for a hike. When we returned to camp we started making supper. My one sister pulled out the pork and beans as well as the bean-less chili that she had brought the chili was for the top of the hot dogs we were cooking. My other sister said that she did not bring the can opener because when she checked the pie filling the cans had pull tops on them. It took two of the guys ten minutes and a broken knife to get the cans opened. The next day we purchased a new can opener and a knife to have with the camping supplies taking this all into consideration,. Thanks for finding my site and reading my article.
